Ribbon-cutting ceremony at Exaptive’s new HQ

July 26, 2019 - Exaptive, Inc. is settling into a new company headquarters space in the Oklahoma City Innovation District. Members of the Greater Oklahoma City Chamber of Commerce held a ribbon cutting in the new offices at 124 NW 12th Street (73103).

Joe Acosta, a member of the Chamber's Board of Advisors, presented a plaque to Dave and congratulated the Exaptive team.

“I never expected when I moved Exaptive from Boston to Oklahoma that I would find such a welcome home in terms of a state that was really trying to facilitate innovation also. So it’s fitting that we’re doing our ribbon cutting in the new Innovation District,” said CEO Dave King. “I spent about four years living out of a camper van, and that experience taught me a lot of things about what ‘home’ means. I learned it was not about my physical address; it was about the people who made me feel at home. For Exaptive, Oklahoma and all of our employees and the Chamber has really made Exaptive feel at home.”

Exaptive, Inc., was started in Boston in 2011 with Dave as the only employee. Dave moved the company to Oklahoma City in 2014. As of July 2019, Exaptive has 22 employees. Read more about our story here. Come visit our new space at the next Data+Creativity meetup.
